Tokyo Tonkatsu Course - Ginza Katsukami

by Nome 2022. 9. 28.

Katsukami Ginza, which I've wanted to go to for a long time.

Tonkatsu, one of my favorite foods after coming to Japan, can be eaten as a course meal :)

It seems that it was difficult to make a reservation in the past, but after COVID-19, it is relatively easy to make a reservation .

The course we booked is the Tokyo X pork course, 9,350 yen per person (tax included).

There are several brands of pork in Japan, and one of them is a menu that offers tonkatsu made with Tokyo X pork, a brand that is special to Tokyo :)

It is a very small shop with only 10 tatchi-style seats and only one table seat that can seat four people.

There were two of us, so we sat at the table and it was fun to watch the food being made.

We ordered draft beer as soon as we sat down :)

The first menu that came out was grilled ginkgo nut.

I remember my mom baking it when I was little, and it was delicious.

If I ate a lot, my stomach hurt, so I could only eat five..🥹

Tomato Dashitsuke Salad served with ginkgo nut.

Beautifully peeled tomatoes and sweet and sour dashi-tsuke are also a honey combination.

The first of the tonkatsu course meal is hirekatsu :)

Just lift it up as the chef instructed, drink the juice from the top, and eat it without adding anything.

It was a bit unfamiliar to drink the juice(?), but hehe I can understand why he asked me to drink it.

Sometimes when I eat good meat, I have a unique flavor, but the first tonkatsu was really full of that unique flavor.

(There seems to be a different menu next time, but no matter how much I searched, I couldn't find a picture..)

Third is today's 'Akamikatsu'

I ate one with salt and the other with sauce, but the akami part is savory and light, so salt goes better with the sauce.

And the grapes that came out suddenly :)

It was sweet enough that I thought it might be pickled in honey or sugar, and it was juicy just like the chef said.

The fresh grapes came out at a time when you could feel it a little, and it was enough to keep your mouth clean.

The fifth menu item is a burger with menchi-katsu.

It's so cute :) The Menci-katsu burger was delicious and not greasy.

The sixth is today's mouth-watering menu (口直し)

The pineapple was properly ground and chewed, so the texture was good, and it was not too sweet, so it was literally good for the palate.

The seventh is a menu where you choose one of several types of katsu or croquettes.

There are four menus to choose from: Abalone Croquette, Today's Pork Rare Cut, Yoshizuka Corned Beef, and Seasonal Special Ingredients.

Seasonal special ingredients usually change with each season, when I went it was sweet potatoes.

I like sweet potatoes, and my husband chose the rare part of the pig today.

I asked if they would share the menu, and I said yes, and they gave me one like this :)

It was so good that I took a close-up shot.

It was made with sweet potato skins as well, and the texture was good, especially the fried sweet potato skins on top.. Really 💛

The eighth menu is crab meat cream croquette

Originally, when I went to eat tonkatsu, I liked it enough to add a creamy crab meat croquette, so I was expecting it, but it was just moderately delicious.

It was a shame that all the other menus were so delicious that they didn't feel special, but I think it would be difficult to make them more delicious

The ninth is today's second Akamikatsu

Unlike the first akamikatsu, there is a little fat at the tip and raw wasabi from Nagano is placed on top.

Add wasabi evenly and eat as the chef said

The raw wasabi is not too spicy, it is soft, and the flavor is really good.

Actually, I don't really like wasabi or oily tonkatsu, but I really liked the combination of the two.

The tenth is katsu with truffle butter

What can I say about truffle butter..  It was so delicious 💛

And meal menu

Curry with minced meat was light and not heavy, so it was good to finish a meal without feeling greasy.

However, the tonkatsu on top had too much fat, and I felt too full.

The last dessert is shaved ice. There were several to choose from, but I chose the mango.

Mango bingsu was so delicious that it was too good to be served only as a dessert.

Ginza Katsukami, where everything was delicious, including the cafe latte shaved ice that my husband ordered 🤍

It was new to eat tonkatsu as a course meal, and it was so good to provide high-quality meat, so if I get a chance, I want to go there again!
